
The Under Secretary General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN-Habitat, Mrs. Maimunah Mohd Sharif, visits Colombia for the first time to attend an important agenda with mayors, authorities and different civil society organizations. During her stay in the country, the director will address issues of sustainable urban development, climate change, migration, inclusion and human rights.
Maimunah Mohd Sharif is the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Program, UN-Habitat. Since 2017, Ms. Sharif has promoted global sustainable development and climate action initiatives in cities.
With more than 90 offices around the world, including Colombia, UN-Habitat is the global entity and center of innovation for the United Nations system, currently leading the development agendas for safe, inclusive, prosperous and resilient cities and human settlements to climate change.

Ms. Sharif visits Colombia for the first time to attend in different cities of the country, an agenda that will promote inclusive cities, safe migration with a focus on human rights, actions for the climate emergency, mobility and sustainable urban development issues.
During her visit, she will inaugurate the first IntegrHa-bitat Center in the city of Barranquilla, where he will learn about the actions developed within the framework of the Inclusive Cities, Solidarity Communities Project.
From November 20 to 25, she will meet with local authorities, civil society organizations, migrant care centers, members of the Forum of Ministers and Highest Authorities of Housing and Urban Planning of Latin America and the Caribbean and representatives of the UN system in colombia.
